We’ve received some questions about the City’s winter parking ordinance and would like to share this simple mnemonic device: SNOW=NO parking.
Winter Parking Restrictions are in effect whenever a snow event is declared. Recently our overnight parking ordinance was changed from a complete ‘no overnight parking’ policy to ‘no overnight parking’ when a snow event is declared (when snow accumulation is expected).
While the overnight parking ordinance has changed, we would like to remind you that our winter parking ordinance also states, during any snowfall event, all streets need to be cleared of vehicles for the purpose of snowplowing until all streets have been plowed. Additionally, as soon as a snow event alert has been issued, vehicles must be moved.
The Wright County Sheriff's Office will rigorously enforce this ordinance, and your vehicle may be towed without warning at your expense. Call WCSO’s non-emergency number: (763) 682-1162, to locate a towed vehicle.
