Arts & Entertainment

Monticello's growing arts and entertainment options provide a variety of experiences for all ages!

Monticello Arts Initiative

Connectivity through creativity; is the core value behind the Monticello Arts Initiative.

Our primary focus is to help make the downtown area a vibrant, invigorating space where people enjoy spending time and being active.

Connecting local creatives to one another is step one. By harnessing that group's energy, creative thinking, and ideas, we'll plan events, create programming, and weave public and community arts into the downtown landscape.

Follow Monticello Arts Initiative on Facebook, email the Monticello Arts Initiative or visit their website for more information and to get involved!

MontiArts' New Home

In 2022 MontiArts moved into the former Taylor Land Surveying building at 213 West Broadway. The location allows more opportunities for the public to get involved in art projects around Monticello. From creating public art to specialty classes to events, there's something for artists and non-artists of all ages. More information about upcoming events and programming is available on the on MontiArts' website.

Downtown Shimmer Wall

The first installation by the Monti Arts Initiative was an ambitious idea to select a photograph to display in a truly unique way in a very visible place downtown.

A committee selected a photo by local photographer Chris Lommel to be constructed of thousands of reflective discs that flutter in the breeze giving the image movement and a shimmering quality.
